The Vermilion County Health Department is reporting 14 more COVID-19 cases locally.
Health Department Administrator Doug Toole says that the cases include four people in their 70’s and two people in their 60’s. There are currently 13 county residents who are hospitalized with the virus and 187 active cases. 9,572 total cases have been reported in the county since the pandemic began.
Five COVID-19 vaccine clinics will be held this week:
- Tuesday, May 18 — A Pfizer clinic focusing on Vermilion County students between the ages of 12 and 17 from 3-7 p.m. at Hoopeston Area High School
- Wednesday, May 19 — A Pfizer clinic focusing on Vermilion County students between the ages of 12 and 17 from 3-7 p.m. at Georgetown-Ridge Farm High School
- Thursday, May 20 — A Moderna clinic focusing on those needing their second Moderna vaccinations from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at the Vermilion County Health Department
- Friday, May 21 — A Pfizer clinic focusing on Vermilion County students between the ages of 12 and 17 from 3-7 p.m. at Salt Fork Middle School in rural Sidell
- Saturday, May 22 — A Pfizer clinic focusing on Vermilion County students between the ages of 12 and 17 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mark Denman Elementary School in Danville.
