Only one of the Stock+Field locations in Vermilion County will be reopening this summer.
A spokesman for R.P. Lumber, which bought the chain formerly known as Big R from bankruptcy in April, says the location on North Vermilion Street in Danville will stay closed and will not reopen under the new management. The Tilton location will be reopening by July, along with 21 other locations. The company formerly operated 26 total locations in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Wisconsin.
R.P. Lumber is looking to do away with the Stock+Field name, and the public is invited to submit their suggestions for the new store name in an online contest.
Anyone can submit entries through June 18th. The new name will be announced during the first week of July. Entries can be submitted at https://www.stockandfield.com/itsyourstore.
Stock+Field also operated locations in Crawfordsville, Gibson City and Watseka. All three will stay open under R.P. Lumber ownership.
