Two people died in a small plane crash on Sunday morning near Crawfordsville.
Indiana State Police say that sheriff’s deputies from Montgomery County responded to a call around 10:15 a.m. that a plane had crashed into a corn field. The location is at the intersection of State Road 47 and County Road 800 East.
Two people were inside the plane when the crash occurred. Their names are being withheld pending notification by family members.
An investigation into the cause of the crash is being handled by the Federal Aviation Administration. Indiana State Police, Montgomery County EMA, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department, Montgomery County Coroner and the Darlington Fire Department all assisted at the scene.
