Danville police are searching for the driver of a vehicle who hit another vehicle overnight and then fired several shots while fleeing the scene.
A woman from Fairmount told police that she was driving southbound on Park Street at 12:23 a.m. Wednesday and stopped at the intersection with South Street.
The person driving an eastbound blue truck then disobeyed a stop sign, striking the woman’s vehicle. After the crash, the driver fled the scene, firing several rounds. Some of the bullets struck nearby houses.
Emergency personnel were called to assess the woman and a passenger. Her vehicle was towed from the scene.
