A limited number of seats are still available for the 25th edition of the WDAN Sports Media Camp for Kids, which is taking place next week at Danville Area Community College.
Students who are between the ages of 10 and 18 who have an interest in the sports media field are encouraged to attend. The camp will focus on broadcasting, writing, video editing, play-by-play, podcasting, public address announcing and more.
Some of the speakers at this year’s camp include the Voice of the Illini, Brian Barnhart, along with Oakwood native Logan Lee and WISH-TV’s Charlie Clifford. The kids will be able to call a Danville Dans game next Thursday night on VermilionCountyFirst.com, write a story for the Commercial-News, host a podcast and create a sports video.
Parents can register their children online for the camp. It starts next Monday and runs from 1-4 p.m. daily at the Mary Miller Center.
