The Vermilion County Health Department reported late Wednesday (June 16, 2021) that two more people have died from COVID-related causes. County Health Administrator Douglas Toole says it takes the county’s death toll to 144 since the pandemic began. The latest victims are a woman in her 50s and a man in his 90s.
The County Health Department reported 20 new cases of COVID-19 in its report late Wednesday. And Toole says three of those people reported they have been fully vaccinated. He adds there are currently 59 active COVID cases in Vermilion County.
Forty-four people participated in the Health Department’s COVID-vaccination clinic on Wednesday.
Toole adds citizens need to be vigilant, make smart choices, and be safe.
