Pabst Disposal customers in Vermilion County are still getting garbage collection today (Wednesday) despite a fire Tuesday that destroyed all three of the company’s trucks. BW Disposal is letting Pabst use one of its trucks.
The fire broke out Tuesday afternoon after Pabst workers had left the company’s shop at 588 E. 14th Street – south of Danville. The shop and all contents were destroyed but there were no injuries.
Owner Gaylen Pabst thanked all firefighters and first responders. In a post on Facebook he also thanked BW Disposal for the use of one of their trucks. The post says collections are on schedule as the company looks for other trucks.
Meanwhile, the investigation continues into what caused the fire.
