Danville Area Community College is improving its Robotics program to help local industries. DACC President Stephen Nacco explains…
{AUDIO: ”It’s going from a Tinker Toys lab to something that is used in industry, and to be able to train there. .. Right now our summer goal is to convert the whole thing and to start being able to train any of the manufacturers who use robotics as part of what they do.”}
The College is developing a new robotics certificate and already has Illinois Community College Board approval for the course. President Nacco says ROBO 100 (Introduction to Robotics) is to address the regional demand for more workers who have skills in robotic programming and troubleshooting.
Nacco also says the local community college will be starting Barber School as one of its offerings. It is to help fill the void after the recent closing of the local Tricoci school.
