A Danville man has been sentenced to five years in prison after entering a guilty plea to unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon.
Circuit Judge Charles Hall sentenced Dustin Brockett after hearing evidence agents with the Vermilion County Metropolitan Enforcement Group (VMEG) and Illinois State Parole Agents found two firearms located in a home where Brockett was living. The weapons were found during a compliance check on Brockett. Brockett admitted to agents that he owned the firearms.
‘’Thank you VMEG and Parole agents for monitoring those in our community and keeping us all safe,’’ said Vermilion County State’s Attorney Jacqueline Lacy. ‘’Individuals on parole with firearms will not be tolerated and they will be held accountable for their criminal behavior,’’ added Lacy in a news release.
