The Danville Planning and Zoning Commission has taken the initial step which could lead to some redevelopment in the area near Lynch Road and Interstate 74. The Commission is recommending the Danville City Council approve a semi-final plat for the subdivision of 388 Eastgate Drive. It’s in the area of the EconoLodge.
Danville Hospitality LLC is requesting approval of plans to subdivide the area into five lots. The location is a short distance from where a casino is proposed. The Commission recommended the lots can be sub-divided, but added more information is necessary – such as elevations and utility locations once development plans for the property are known.

The City of Danville is still awaiting action by the Illinois Gaming Board to approve the preliminary suitability and final license for the proposed new casino. If approved it would be about a half-mile down Lynch Road from where the Danville Hospitality LLC land (shown in the pictures) is located.
It was eight months ago that it was announced Golden Nugget LLC had approved an agreement with Wilmot Gaming Illinois LLC to build a casino in Danville. The agreement is contingent upon clearing regulatory hurdles. The Illinois Gaming Board has a meeting scheduled for July 14th but it remains to be seen whether any action will be taken on the Danville casino.
