A former Danville man has been sentenced to six years in prison following his recent conviction on burglary charges. Ryan Sykes had been arrested by Danville Police on November 1st of last year in the area of Knox Drive.
Circuit Judge Charles Hall heard evidence earlier that on November 1, 2020, a homeowner had came upon Sykes and another individual as they were trying to take items from the victim’s home. Sykes and the other person fled but were apprehended shortly thereafter by Danville Police.
‘’The residents of our community deserve to feel safe in their homes,’’ said Vermilion County State’s Attorney Jacqueline Lacy. ‘’Tough sentences will be sought for those criminals that violate the sanctity of one’s home in our community,’’ added Lacy.
