The Friday night crowd at Balloons Over Vermilion set a record for the event as the weather cooperated. Nearly 30 hot air balloons launched from the Vermilion Regional Airport, and then returned to the airport for a night Balloon Glow.
Those in the crowd were enjoying everything from live music, Kids Zone, and The Amazing Giants, to food and beverages and a chance to take tethered balloon rides.
THERE IS FREE ADMISSION TODAY (SATURDAY). Balloons Over Vermilion announced it is their gift to the community after a very difficult past year and a wonderful night last night. The five-dollar charge to park has also been eliminated.
Winds were too strong for a Saturday morning flight by the pilots, but they hoped to fly again Saturday night (weather permitting).
