The Small Business Development Center at Danville Area Community College has announced its 2021 Vermilion County Small Business Award winners.
The Small Business of the Year is Rawhide Meat Company, which has been locally owned by Joe Vincent since 2016. The business at 618 North Vermilion Street in Danville carries a full line of fresh premium cuts of beef, pork and poultry sourced from the USA only – and the ground beef is ground fresh daily.
The 2021 Legacy Small Business of the Year is Cahill’s Family Pancake House. Cahill’s has been serving breakfast and lunch at 334 North Gilbert Street in Danville for over 30 years. The family owned business is currently managed by the 2nd generation of the Cahill family – Pat Cahill.
The 2021 Entrepreneur of the year is Vermilion River Beer Company. The Vermilion River Beer Company is anchored in Downtown Danville at 103 North Vermilion Street. The business opened in 2019 and the Small Business Development Center says it serves good beer, enjoyable conversation, and live entertainment.
The 2021 Small Business Start Up of the Year is Greg’s Gun Gallery. Greg Hoover started the business at 3803 North Vermilion Street in Danville in August of last year. They buy, sell, trade, and transfer firearms and special order items as needed.
Since 1964, the Small Business Administration has set aside a time annually to recognize the hard work of entrepreneurs to provide goods and services across the nation.
