The Vermilion County Health Department said Monday that 13 new cases of Covid-19 have been diagnosed in the county. It brings to 10,114 the number of positive cases which have been found in the county since the pandemic began early last year.
The latest cases are a resident in their 60s, two in their 40s, two in their 20s, three teenagers, three grade-school aged children, and one infant. Of the 13 new cases reported Tuesday, none of them told the Health Department that they had been fully vaccinated.
There are currently 5 Vermilion County residents with Covid who are hospitalized. And County Health Department Administrator Douglas Toole says there are currently 40 known active COVID cases in the county.
The public is reminded that the Vermilion County Health Department is hosting one COVID-19 vaccination clinic per month. The next clinic is Wednesday, July 14th, at the Health Department offices at 200 College Street in Danville. Johnson and Johnson vaccinations will be offered between 10 and 11 a.m., and Moderna vaccinations will be given between 11:00 a.m. and noon.
