The Eastern Illinois Foodbank has announced plans to hold another food giveaway in Vermilion County. It will occur August 7th, 2021 at Ward Park in Ridge Farm. The Foodbank will be distributing free food to area families facing food insecurity from 9:30 until 10:30 that morning. The event is open to all Vermilion County residents needing assistance.
Those planning to attend should pre-register at www.EIFclient.com. Doing so does not guarantee you a place in line.
Those participating must meet certain income guidelines to be eligible.
A single person can receive up to $2,127 a month and still qualify. A two member household can receive up to $2,873 a month. A three-member household can receive up to $3,620 a month. A four member household can receive up to $4,367 a month and is still eligible. If there are five people in your house, you still qualify if the monthly income is up to $5,113 a month. If there are six people in your household you can earn up to $5,860 a month. And if there are seven people in your household, the maximum allowable monthly income to still qualify is $6,607.
The distribution is part of the Foodbank’s Foodmobile Program, a system of mobile food pantries designed to help bring nutritious food to rural or underserved areas.
