Organizers of Balloons Over Vermilion say despite the rain on its second day, this year’s event still attracted over 21-thousand guests.
Event Co-Chair Pat O’Shaughnessy says over 5,000 visitors did not let wet weather on Saturday dampen their spirits. They enjoyed such things as a carnival, Balloon School hosted by local hot air balloon pilots, a Kids Zone, Joyful Bubbles, Touch A Truck and other activities.
‘’Our Board of Directors is very pleased with this year’s results,’’ said Co-Chair Jim Anderson. He says it will ‘’provide funds to help local programs and initiatives aimed at improving the lives of our most precious resource; our young people.’’
‘’Our sincere thanks once again goes out to our Title Sponsor, the Julius W. Hegeler II Foundation, for the continued support which it has shared since the beginning of Balloons Over Vermilion.
In addition, over 400 volunteers and dozens of sponsors were also critical to the successful return of the marquee outdoor festival.
The next Balloons Over Vermilion is scheduled July 8th and 9th of 2022. You can follow Balloons Over Vermilion on social media for the latest updates.
