The Vermilion County Health Department is reminding area residents that office is offering both Shield Illinois COVID-19 testing and vaccination clinics for COVID.
You do not need to have symptoms to participate in the Shield Illinois saliva COVID-19 testing. The tests are free and are being offered at the Vermilion County Health Department between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. every Wednesday. (It is a PCR test which has not been recalled.) The office is located at 200 South College Street in Danville.
The next vaccination clinic for COVID is Wednesday, August 4th, at the same South College Street location. Johnson and Johnson vaccinations ONLY will be offered from 10:00 a.m. until noon. Walk-ins should arrive by 11:30 a.m.

The Health Department will host a Moderna vaccination clinic on August 11th from 10:00 a.m. until noon, and another Moderna clinic on September 8th from 10:00 a.m. until noon. Again, walk-ins should arrive by 11:30 a.m. both days.
Local hospitals (OSF, Carle, and the VA) are also providing COVID vaccination clinics, according to Toole, along with pharmacies, Aunt Martha’s, and some private providers.
There are now 16 total known Delta Variant cases in Vermilion County. None of them had been previously vaccinated.
