Crews have completed their work on renovating a former vacant Carnegie Library building into Dr. Alice Marie Jacobs Hall on the campus of Danville Area Community College.
DACC President Stephen Nacco says the workers did a great job…
{AUDIO: ‘’It’s a beautiful place! A real tribute to – what it is — is a historic building. And Doug Adams is our Executive Director for Facilities, managing a Champaign contractor with all local sub-contractors built a beautiful palace.’’}
Dr. Nacco says the space will be used for multiple purposes….
{AUDIO: ‘’For our Liberal Arts students, for music students, for those in Performing Arts, Dramatic Arts, and really visual arts – the painters and the sculptors — that’s going to be their playground – beginning now. They’re starting to move in, and they’re starting to figure out the fall semester (and) what they will do there.’’}
Nacco says with its polished floors and beautiful dome the building can be used for multiple purposes. In fact, the DACC Foundation will be holding its Donor’s Dinner there in October.
