Twenty-four hours after reporting 39 new COVID cases in the county, the Vermilion County Health Department reported 100 new cases Wednesday evening. Of the 100 new positive cases, there were 17 teenagers, 11 grade-school-aged children, one pre-schooler, and four infants.
Sixteen were between the ages of 60 and 80, 36 between 30 and 50, and fifteen were in their 20s.
Four of the 100 individuals told county contact tracers they had already been vaccinated.
The Vermilion County Health Department reminds everyone that despite vaccination status, due to the county’s high transmission rate, masks should be worn indoors. For more COVID information, go to the Health Department’s COVID-19 pate at vchd.org/COVID-19.
