Whether you enjoy parades, carnival rides, or free hot-buttered sweet corn – you can find plenty to enjoy this Labor Day Weekend in our area. Hoopeston is hosting its 77th National Sweetcorn Festival where activities are already underway. In Westville, the Jaycees will again be sponsoring a big Labor Day Parade – and other activities are taking place at both Zamberletti Park and St. Mary’s Church. For a list of Westville activities visit westvillelionsclub.net.http:/westvillelionsclub.net.
And in Danville, the Vermilion County Federation of Labor hosts the annual parade which is set to begin at 9:30 Monday morning.

(This slide is at Hoopeston’s McFerren Park along with some carnival rides.)
None of the activities occurred last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Danville’s parade begins in the area of Vermilion and Williams Streets and proceeds south through the downtown area. Again, it begins at 9:30 Monday morning.
The Westville Labor Day parade begins at 11:30 Monday morning along South State Street (Illinois route one), and proceeds north to Zamberletti Park.

And in Hoopeston, Saturday’s Grand Parade begins at 10:30. More on the activities in Hoopeston can be found at hoopestonjaycees.org.
Another event that is back following a year off because of the pandemic is the Little Italy Festival in Clinton, Indiana.
