Both the Danville and Westville Labor Day parades had solid turnouts yesterday. And prior to the start of the day’s opening parade in Danville, Troy Thomas from Local 703 said the feeling is generally optimistic about the future in general, and on the labor scene.
AUDIO: I think everybody’s really looking forward to the outcome of this pandemic getting behind us. We’ve been going strong trying to keep the city streets and everything up date. I think it’s going to be a great future.

Tyler Benett from Local 347G said he likes what he sees locally labor wise. But nationwide, he’d like to see some improvements.
AUDIO: Well there’s a big demand for employment. A lot of employers are hiring, and they’re hiring as many as they can get their hands on. Nationwide, I think people need to exercise their right and join a labor union, or form a labor union.
Both the Danville and Westville parades were assisted by fantastic Labor Day weather, which brought out great crowds.
