The Vermilion County Coroner’s Office has identified two victims from incidents that occurred over the holiday weekend.
Thirty-two year old Bryson L. Carter of Danville has been identified as the victim of a shooting that occurred on Saturday September 4th. Carter was found lying in the roadway in the 1900 block of Deerwood when Danville Police arrived on the scene. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Anyone with information is asked to call Danville Police at 217-431-2250, or Vermilion County Crime Stoppers at 217-446-TIPS (8477). Information can be left anonymously with Crime Stoppers.
The Coroner’s office has also identified 59-year-old Danville resident Lewis A Hays as the victim of the late night incident Saturday evening on Route 1. Hays was a pedestrian struck while walking northbound in the lane of travel on Route 1, just south of I-74. The car was driven by a Georgetown man who was not hurt, and the investigation continues.
