An early morning fire at Gross Burgers, a popular Georgetown Road restaurant, left only minor damage. But smoke that spread throughout the business will likely force it to remain closed the rest of the week, according to owner Brad Gross (shown in photo.)

Assistant Westville Fire Chief Mark Ames says there was light smoke coming from the business when firefighters arrived….
Ames says it took firefighters about twenty minutes to bring the fire under control, but they stayed around to help remove smoke from the business.

Gross says he appreciates the firefighters’ help….
And Gross vowed the business will soon re-open….

Westville firefighters were assisted on the call by units from the Lynch, Tilton, Catlin and Georgetown Fire Departments.
The cause is believed to have been electrical according to Ames, but he added it remains under investigation. There were no injuries.
