Danville Mayor Rickey Williams, Jr. says he is looking forward to this weekend’s Vermilion River Fall Festival. The event is Saturday and Sunday, September 18th and 19th, at Danville’s Ellsworth Park….
{AUDIO: ‘’We’re so excited to be able to offer it again. You know, unfortunately due to COVID, and some of the vendors going out of business, it will be a little smaller than usual. But it’s still going to be phenomenal. Saturday especially is going to be full,’’ said the Mayor. ‘’The Danville Farmers Market will be there visiting with us all day – so we’re excited to have a lot of fresh produce. We have a variety of vendors. There’s going to be a (river) cleanup at 9:00 a.m., the car show from 11 until 3, with awards at 3:00 o’clock. And we also have pony rides all day on Saturday as well. There’s a Kids Zone. It’s just going to be a fantastic weekend,’’ added the Mayor during an interview with VermilionCountyFirst.com News.

(Workers from Byerly Tent Rentals of Danville work this week preparing for the festival.)
Crews have been busy preparing the park for the festival this week. And Mayor Williams says anyone can participate in Saturday morning’s clean-up along the river starting at 9:00 a.m….
{AUDIO: ‘’Come on down. We’ll have gloves. We’ll have pickers. We’ll have garbage bags. We’ll have dumpsters so that we can clean up. I’m hoping because of the good work that the IDNR (Illinois Department of Natural Resources) did a couple of years ago that it’s not going to be real bad like it has been in the past. But you never know,’’ added Mayor Williams.

The clean-up is held in conjunction with Keep Vermilion County Beautiful.
Ellsworth Park is located on Danville’s west side. The Vermilion River Fall Festival is sponsored by the City of Danville.
