Vermilion County Sheriff’s Department Captain Michael Hartshorn has announced the arrest of 23-year-old Gregory Burns of Bourbonnais, IL in connection with the double homicide that occurred early Saturday morning September 18th, at Blue Bird’s Liquor on East Main Street near Danville.
Burns was taken into custody at his residence on September 21st, on a warrant charging him with multiple counts of murder and aggravated battery with a firearm. Four individuals were shot in the incident on the 18th, which sheriff’s deputies responded to at 1:55 AM. The two victims in the shooting were 20-year-old Leslie E Fisher, Jr, and 21-year-old Charles L Jones, Jr, both of Danville. The investigation continues, and additional arrests are possible.
