An accident at Route 150 and Champaign County Road 2550E in Champaign County Thursday night has taken the life of an Ogden woman, along with seriously injuring a woman from Catlin and two women from Danville. Illinois State Police report that around 7:30 Thursday evening a black 2014 Mitzubishi Mirage and a gold 2005 Buick Century got into an accident, with one vehicle traveling eastbound on 150 and the other westbound on 150 at the time. For unknown reasons, one vehicle crossed the centerline and struck the other head-on.
The 33-year-old Odgen woman, one of the drivers, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle and two passengers were all transported by ambulance to an area hospital with serious injuries. The name of the victim from Ogden has not been released. Those injured in the other vehicle have been identified as 28-year-old Ariel M. Mercer of Catlin, 40 year old Debra A January from Danville, and 28 year old Brook E Sims from Danville. That is all that’s been released by State Police officials at this time.
Deceased Ogden woman later reported to be Stephanie M Costa.
