If your family, or if you know a family, that could use some help getting a working furnace ready to go for the winter, the East Central Illinois Community Action Agency is participating in a program that may be able to help. Odette Watson addressed the Danville City Council and talked with us afterwards this past Tuesday night, and explained that this is a pilot program designed to help 32 qualifying families with up to $4,000 for either a replacement furnace, or repairs on their furnace, to keep everyone warm this winter.
AUDIO: It is income based, we ask that they provide 30 days of their income and proof of their family size. And definitely, if they are income eligible, they’ll get a voucher. We are only at this moment able to serve 32 families. But it is a new program, and there are a lot of availability at this moment to help many that may have failing furnaces.
