If you are looking for something to do on your Monday Columbus Day holiday, bring the family by Kennekuk County Park for the Animal Olympics at the Kennekuk Environmental Education Center.
Laura Danzl, Education Supervisor for the Vermilion County Conservation District, says this is a new idea that they thought would be fun for entire families. It’s where people can test themselves against what animals do best.
AUDIO: For example, can you hold your breath as long as a beaver. Can you jump as high as a white tailed deer?
Laura will also be offering some fun information on WHY animals can do these amazing things. Stations will be operating throughout the day 9 to 3, but stop by anytime.
