Danville Police have announced the arrest of 19 year old Montel C.L. Plummer of Danville in connection with the September shooting death of 32 year old Bryson Carter. Danville Police located Carter in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds on September 4th, after being dispatched to the 1900 block of Deerwood Drive. Carter later died from multiple gunshot wounds at an area hospital.
The follow-up investigation revealed that Carter was involved in an altercation with his brother, who was identified as Montel C. L. Plummer. The investigation showed that during that altercation, Carter was shot and Plummer fled the scene. Officers observed Plummer on October 6th walking in the area of Hazel and Seminary Streets and he was taken into custody. Plummer is being held at the Danville Public Safety Building on a charge of First Degree Murder, and is awaiting his arraignment in Vermilion County Court.
