Tuesday evening October 12th from 6 to 8 PM at the Palmer Arena in Danville, the general public is invited, along with elected officials and healthcare workers, to a Vermilion County-wide COVID-19 “listening session.”
Father Timothy Sauppe from St Mary’s Catholic Church in Westville says this is not a church event. He calls it a pastoral initiative on his part to allow those on all sides of all COVID issues a chance to simply speak, and a chance to simply be heard. It’s meant to be town hall style, with all who wish being able to speak for two-and-a-half minutes.
AUDIO: I see this as an opportunity to harmonize on two levels, pro or con, and for the person who’s concerned, to have their concerns heard. This is a personal initiative, but I see it as a pastoral initiative. I’m trying to bring harmony t both pro and con, let the people speak.
Tuesday night’s event includes a free raffle at the end for two tickets, or the cash equivalent, to see “Kevin Costner & The Modern West at the Palmer Arena on October 27th. You’ll need to be present to win, by the way. Also, the governor’s mask mandate will be required for all those in attendance.
