The Illinois Broadcasters Association has announced the finalists for this year’s Silver Dome Awards for Excellence in Broadcasting. Staff members from the Neuhoff Media radio stations in Danville have been nominated for several awards.
Nine nominations were announced for personnel from WDAN, WDNL and WRHK in Danville, including:
- Best Hard News Story & Best Radio Spot News Coverage: Both nominations for Bill Pickett’s coverage of the triple-homicide arrest in January 2020
- Best Local Radio Newscast: For Bill Pickett’s WDAN News at Noon
- Best Radio Personality: For Tommy B’s Big Show on WDNL
- Best Radio PSA for Local Charity/Cause: “Be The One” campaign for the Mental Health 708 Board
- Best Radio Series or Documentary: Neuhoff Media received two nominations in this category. One for Linda Bolton and her News Makers presentation of “Letters From Alma.” The second nomination is for the “March Forth Moments” campaign.
- Best Sportscaster: RJ Crace
- Best Use of Non-Broadcast Media: Teacher Time podcasts
A nomination in a Silver Dome Award category means the entry is among the top two or three in state in the Small Market Radio category. The winners will be announced later this year.
