In Hoopeston, on the southeast corner of Route 9 and Route 1, Casey’s is planning to open a much larger facility that the smaller one they have a bit north of there. In fact, it’s a planned truck stop. Casey’s Regional Manager Joe Buyno says, they’ve had their eyes on this spot for a while.
AUDIO: I’ve been working on it for about three or four years I think. I’ve run our store here off and on, and another guy that works with me, named Mike, we’ve talked to the city before about another spot or location. It just took a little while to come about, but it’s nice to see that we finally got it done. We’re able to break ground and get this thing rolling for February.
Construction work has begun on the southeast corner of Routes 9 and 1 in Hoopeston for a new Casey’s Truck Stop.
Nicole Van Hyfte from Vermilion Advantage says, this is a great move forward for Hoopeston, and the entire county.
AUDIO: We’re really excited to have Casey’s growing here in Hoopeston. This is going to be a bigger facility so they’ll be able to host more people, bigger trucks.
Buyno says the targeted opening date is around February 10th. No decision has been made on the fate of the current Casey’s in Hoopeston.
