Halloween is now finished, November is here, and that means it’s already time to talk about the holidays and holiday productions. Greg Duckett and Bob McIntyre from Gregory’s Academy joined 1490 WDAN’s Linda Bolton on Newsmakers Monday morning. And they announced that a production of SCROOGE is going to be shown at First Presbyterian Church on November 11th, 12th, and 13th. Greg Duckett told Linda Bolton that Scrooge is a tradition at Gregory’s Academy, and he an Bob McIntyre are doing a bit of a nostalgia performance this year.
Audio: We’d started with A Christmas Carol becoming an annual event. And what’s interesting is, back when we started in 1999, Bob played Scrooge. He was our first Scrooge, and I was the first Bob Cratchit. And this year, we are reprising those roles.
McIntrye says when it comes to playing the role of Scrooge, he had a bit of a fictional role model; his father.
AUDIO: My dad used to pretend every year to be Scrooge, and would be crabby and snarky on the way up. But then on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day he was always be very jolly and very into the celebration. It really is a story of redemption.
