And yet again, we have the return of something that did not happen last year due to the pandemic: the return of Potterfest to Downtown Danville. Downtown Danville Inc, the Danville Public Library, and the City of Danville are teaming up this Friday night 5 PM to 8 PM. There’s some old attractions back, but as Danville Community Relations Administrator Ashton Greer points out, there’s kind of what you might call a new “home base.”
AUDIO: We’ll have people dressing up, and travia, and different things like that. But we also have some really exciting things going on at the library this year. The library is going to be Hogwarts. It’s going to be just this full Hogwarts experience, so we’re really excited about that.
Greer says, fun will be all over from 5 to 8 Friday, everything from the Best Dressed Costume Contest…..YES, come dressed if you can….to the featured Harry Potter movie at the Fischer Theatre at 7 PM. And if you need some help, they’ll help you get around.
AUDIO: We’re encouraging people to park at the library and start there at Hogwarts. And then when you’re there you’re going to pick up a map that has a list of things to do for the evening. The scavenger hunt map goes in order, starting from the library and working south up Vermilion; along with a unique Potterfest bag for the first 400 guests.
By the way, that movie at the Fischer is Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
