On Wednesday, 11/3/21, two of Danville’s Auxiliary Officers retired from the department. A retirement celebration was held in honor of their service. Montell Smith served with Danville’s Auxiliary Unit for 16 years. Hugh “Marshall” Farr served with the unit for 12 years. Both officers made a number of sacrifices for our department, and more importantly, for the community of Danville. Auxiliary officers serve on a volunteer basis handling special events such as Arts in the Park and The Festival of Trees to name a few. If ever given the opportunity to meet either of these fine gentlemen, you would understand their deep love and devotion for our community. Their dedication is appreciated and will not be forgotten. Both officers were awarded plaques in honor of their service. Please join us in appreciation for their years of volunteer service to the citizens and visitors of Danville.
