DANVILLE, ILLINOIS- The Vermilion County Bobcats of the Southern Professional Hockey League are proud to announce their first two games of the season were a huge success with an opening night sellout and a 93% attendance rate for two home games.
The SPHL welcomed a new franchise and a hungry fanbase into their ranks as the Bobcats officially welcomed a new league to Vermilion County and with the commissioner in attendance the league was pleased with what they saw at the David S Palmer Arena.
Commissioner Doug Price told media members “Vermilion County fits in well with our Northern Markets that have been in the league. We are always looking to make it work well and be a good fit for the communities. We are very happy to be here in Vermilion County. The crowd here tonight is fantastic and we are excited about what the Bobcats bring to the SPHL.”
