We are reporting 77 new cases (three resident in their 80s, two in their 70s, two in their 60s, four in their 50s, nine in their 40s, twelve in their 30s, sixteen in their 20s, thirteen teens, nine grade-school-aged children, two pre-schoolers, two toddlers, and three infants), and 80 released, which brings us to a total of 15,079 positive cases.
We are saddened to report another COVID-related death – a man in his 70s. Our sympathies go out to his family and friends. We have lost a total of 203 Vermilion County residents to COVID-related deaths since this pandemic began.
There are currently 412 active COVID cases in the county. There are currently 19 Vermilion County residents hospitalized with COVID.
We are aware of thirteen Vermilion County residents who have become reinfected with COVID since June 1.
Of the 77 cases being reported today, seven of them told us they have been fully vaccinated. As part of the interview process, our contact tracers ask each person who tested positive whether they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Vaccinations save lives.
There are quite a few opportunities to receive your COVID-19 vaccine or booster. Please bring your COVID vaccination cards and an ID.
- November 22nd from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Catlin Public Library (109 S. Sandusky Street, Catlin) – Pfizer and Modern booster clinic. This clinic is provided by IDPH and IEMA, and not by the VCHD.
- November 22 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Westville Public Library (233 S. State Street, Westville) – Pfizer 1st dose ONLY. This clinic is provided by IDPH and IEMA, and not by the VCHD.

- OSF – has vaccines for children 5 and up. Please go to www.osfmychart.org to make an appointment.
- Local Pharmacies – make appointments online, check to see if they have the vaccine you need: 1st Dose / 2nd Dose / 3rd Dose / Booster.
