Now that a new adult use cannabis dispensary in Danville has been approved for Lot 1 at 388 Eastgate Drive just off Lynch Road, Seven Point founder and CEO Brad Zerman says he knows construction can’t really begin until March 1st or so since we’re going into winter. But he intends to be prepared when that time comes.
Planned location for adult use cannabis dispensary at Lot 1, 388 Eastgate Drive
AUDIO: Right now I am sending an e-mail today to a local architect whom I was referred to. I’m going to connect them with my Chicago designer who’s been involved in all my other stuff. I’m going to get them together, and we’re going to create drawings for the property.
Zerman restated that he plans to hire 30 to 40 employees and wants to give top priority to Danville residents. As he explained before, like a restaurant, he’ll have a back room team handling deliveries and inventory, and a front room team waiting on customers. And, he says his workers will be knowledgeable and trained. For instance, if someone comes in with a medical need that cannabis could help, just like anyone else buying something over the counter, he wants customers to have their questions answered.
AUDIO: Anyone who’s 21 or older can come into our store. There’s not a medical requirement or anything like that. Our staff will be trained to help people buy something if they’re going to use it medically, or if they’re going to use it recreationally. Our staff will be trained for which products will be, you know, good to try for which types of thing.
Zerman says, it’ll take a few months after construction starts to start hiring people, as the interior will need to be completed, including security cameras. But when he’s ready to talk with perspective employees, he will let everyone know.
