Danville Police continue to investigate two shooting incidents from over the holiday weekend. One occurred Thanksgiving Eve, Wednesday the 24th around 11:18 PM, as police responded to the area of the 1100 block of Robinson Street in reference to a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers found an 18-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound to the torso. The victim stated he and a friend were walking in the area when they heard people yelling and then several shots fired. The victim said he did not see who fired the shots, but did observe two subjects wearing hooded sweatshirts and masks over their faces running towards him prior to the shooting. The victim was transported to an area hospital and is reported in stable condition.
The second incident occurred around 2:34 AM Sunday morning the 28th. Danville Police responded to the area of the Marathon Gas Station in the 3400 Block of East Main Street after shots were reported fired. Officers found a 24-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound to his shoulder. The victim stated he was sitting at the gas station in the passenger side of his friend’s vehicle when someone approached from the rear and fired one shot into the vehicle. Witnesses reported a black male subject wearing a red jacket had approached the vehicle, fired the shot, and then left in a silver colored SUV. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment to a non-life threatening wound.
