Preparations continue for the big Friday and Saturday in Downtown Danville. As Danville Community Relations Administrator Ashton Greer told Linda Bolton on 1490 WDAN’s News Makers program earlier this week, the whole thing, highlighted by the Night of Lights Parade at 6 PM Friday, is a big team effort.
AUDIO: Vermilion Advantage, the City of Danville, and Downtown Danville, Inc are co-sponsoring this. We have nearly 50 floats and a dozen sponsors. It has been so well received, it’s going to be huge. I’m so excited about just the turnout, we weren’t sure what to expect this year.
And don’t forget, there is a fantastic gift shopping opportunity, not to mention a chance to take a special ride.
AUDIO: Friday and Saturday in Downtown Danville is the Holiday Bazaar at the County Administration Building. So this is local craft vendors selling really unique gifts and items. We have over 20 vendors that will be at the County Administration Building. So stop by there, if you want to do some unique holiday shopping this weekend, that’s a really exciting thing. And also on Friday from 1 to 5 PM, the city is sponsoring horse drawn carriage rides through Downtown Danville.
And of course, let’s not forget all the holiday music at the Fischer Theatre this weekend: with the Danville Barbershop Chorus at 3 PM Saturday, and the Danville Symphony Orchestra at 3 PM Sunday.
