As they prepare for their move from 212 West Fairchild to 401 North Gilbert, Slotted Spoon owners Eric and Cassie Rhodes have received an assist from the Danville Area Planning and Zoning Commission. During the meeting this past Thursday night, the request for a 50 percent variance in the parking requirements was granted.
The variance request was actually a move with the future in mind. The Slotted Spoon specializes in “take bake,” fresh meals, primarily entrees, sometimes with a side. But down the road, in their future larger location, they’d like to include perhaps a community room, where meetings with sit down eating and refreshments could take place. Cassie says, it’s all about wanting to branch out and grow.

Cassie Rhodes says the actual move date from Fairchild to Gilbert is yet to be determined. But the variance request is all taken care of, since this particular vote by the Planning and Zoning Commission does not need to go before the Danville City Council.
