The Vermilion County State’s Attorney’s Office has reported that Craig Sullivan was sentenced on Friday, December 10th to seven years in the Illinois Department of Corrections by Judge Charles Hall for the offense of Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle.
In May of 2021, Sullivan was stopped by the Georgetown Police Department while steering a 2015 Polaris RZR that was being towed by another vehicle. Georgetown Police had initially received a 911 call from the victim in this case regarding a theft in progress. The Georgetown Police were able to quickly apprehend Sullivan and another defendant, whose case is still pending before the Court.
During the sentencing hearing, Judge Hall was informed that Sullivan had been previously convicted of crimes that include Burglary, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Possession of a Controled Substance.
State’s Attorney Jacqueline Lacy applauded the victim in this case for calling 911 immediately, and for the quick response from the Georgetown Police Department.
