This is Wreaths Across America week, and the countdown is on to the big ceremony this Saturday. Once again, the Danville National Cemetary out at VA Illiana Health Care will be having their ceremony at 11 AM, helping as an official location for Wreaths Across America’s mission of Remember, Honor, Teach.
The Wreaths will arrive at the cemetery Friday morning at 10 AM (at the Cirle K on South Bowman near the main entrance), being escorted in; and then they will be distributed after Saturday’s cememony. The guest speaker will be retired U S Marine LTC and GOP gubinatorial candidate Paul Schimpf.
Last month we spoke to Tammy Williams about purchasing wreaths. This month, she tells us there will be a little surprise compliments of the Vermilion Regional Airport.
AUDIO: I have gotten in contact with the airport, and they put out an e-mail. And we have between five and six airplanes that will do a flyover kicking off our ceremony.
And as Tammy Williams reminds us, the efforts for Wreaths Across America go year ‘round, so if you missed thechance to sponsor a wreath this year, you can already do it for next year.
