You have just a couple days left to donate to this year’s TOYS FOR TOTS effort. As always, it’s been a big team effort, including the Salvation Army’s involvement. Melissa Wilhelm from the Salvation Army says, it’s always a matter of taking care of the applicants that qualify.
AUDIO: And then we also do set up angel trees and work with local businesses and people who create angel trees, or private doners as well, to collect toys and monetary gifts towards Toys for Tots in Danville.
Megan Montgomery has been running the area Toys for Tots campaign. She says, despite having a more normal holiday season after last year’s was so affected by the pandemic, the need for donations has been there, and stronger than a year ago.
AUDIO: Actually we’ve had more people contact us this year asking for help than we had last year. Surprisingly, our numbers are higher than what they were at this time last year. So I would saw our need is still great.
