A couple months back we talked about the “Three-Plus-One” program at Danville Area Community College. That’s where students are there two years, get their Associates Degree, and then can take one more year of DACC courses, and then finish up their Bachelor’s by taking a final year of courses on line with a participating school. As we mentioned, participants in that with DACC include Eastern Illinois, Indiana Wesleyan, and Franklin University in Ohio.
NOW, Danville Area Community College has announced some three-plus-one agreements between DACC and Southern Illinois University. Students will be able to follow the three-plus-one routine and complete degrees from SIU in accounting, business administration, criminology and criminal justice, psychology, health-care management, and radiology.
In addition to that, barber training is coming to DACC. President Dr. Stephen Nacco explains.
AUDIO: We’re going to start barbering. We’re going to have barbering school, beginning both as an Associate’s Degree and as a certificate program. We have a local barber, Terrence Gouard, who is a certified teacher. It’s through Laura Hensgen’s Community Education for the certificate; but it’s also through Dr Bridges and Dr McConnell, through the academics; so it’s an Associate’s Degree program too.
Both the certificate and associate degree programs will begin this coming summer.
