A house fire in Tilton early Friday afternoon (December 17, 2021) sent one of the occupants to the hospital with minor injuries. Tilton firefighters found heavy smoke coming from the home at 112 Second Street when they first arrived.
The home is owned by Gerald Alcorn who says his son, Todd and daughter, Angie, were living there. The daughter was transported to the hospital with what were described as non-life threatening injuries.
Gerald Alcorn says he was told his daughter had been upstairs sleeping when the fire erupted. Most of the fire damage was in the upstairs area of the home which is just south of Interstate 74.
Tilton firefighters received mutual aid from the Westville, Catlin and Georgetown fire departments which assisted on the scene.
The cause of the blaze and an estimate of damages were not immediately available.
