United Way of Danville President and CEO Mary Surprenant says despite the COVID distractions, this year’s campaign was looking good come late December.
AUDIO: I can tell you that with the energy of our campaign chair, Nicole Van Hyfte, alongside the support of our board, we are well on our way to hitting our $500,000 goal. We are at about $165,000 at this time. It’s just about being creative and finding a way to pivot.
And as far as pivoting into the early cold months of 2022, with more COVID distractions hanging around, Surprenant says the key for United Way of Danville will be getting creative, in new ways.
AUDIO: We’ve never had a formal winter campaign. And I’m exited to let the community know, or actually ask them, if they want to “build a snowman” with us! Our impact areas are 22 different programs, that’s 17 different agencies that your dollars go to help support. Our local agencies in fact. And remember when you donate locally it drives locally change. Unfortunately, I think COVID is here for a little bit longer, and we are finding ways to overcome that.
You’ll hear more about that “United Way snowman building” opportunity early in the new year.
