Live stand-up comedy is coming to Vermilion County this weekend. A location in Westville is bringing some comedy talent from around the state this coming Friday evening January 14th. Fireside Event Space at 400 Lyons Road in Westville, formerly known at the Riggle, is hosting a CU Comedy event. CU Comedy’s Jesse Tuttle explains the plans for Friday at Fireside Event Space.
AUDIO: It was formerly the Riggle, and it is under new managements right now. So they’re just looking for new events to get some people to come out there, and I guess we’re one of the start ones.
Tuttle says the talent will be coming from various locations.
AUDIO: We have somebody coming in from the Springfield area, somebody coming in from St. Louis; people from Champaign from the CU Comedy CLub, everybody that we do shows with. They’ve all done comedy clubs and they’ve headlined featured events and event centers. It’s people that have been doing stand-up for quite a long time.
Friday’s evening’s show begins at 8 PM, with doors opening at 7.
