Dustin Lynch's fifth studio album, called Blue In The Sky, is available everywhere today (Friday, February 11th). The 12-track collection includes collaborations with Riley Green, Chris Lane and MacKenzie Porter, the latter of whom he shares a multi-week Number One hit with “Thinking 'Bout You.”
The songs on Blue In The Sky tend to be personal but upbeat, touching on his passions outside of music and his recent breakup with his now ex-girlfriend Kelli Seymour. Writing and recording at home during Covid lent itself to the vibe of the album, as Dustin tells us: “It was a different schedule. I think that's really why these songs lean, in my mind — that's why I named it Blue In The Sky — a lot of these songs reminded me of what I like to do outside of music which is hang with my friends on the boat or out at the farm. I was in a relationship. My girlfriend moved in with me cause we didn't know if the world was gonna end. We break up, I get through those weeds and so I come out on the other side of that relationship knowing a lot more about what I want out of life and I think a little bit better idea about who I need in my life, so I'm in a very positive, optimistic place on what's out there for me.”
Dustin's very first headlining tour, called the Party Mode Tour, is set to kick off with back-to-back appearances at iconic Texas venues Gruene Hall in New Braunfels on March 17th and Billy Bob’s Texas in Fort Worth on March 18th. The 17-city run features special guest Sean Stemaly, and tickets go on sale today at 10 a.m. local time at DustinLynchMusic.com.
