If you’d like an example of how anxious everyone is to get back to normal for both springtime and coming out of the pandemic, try this. One year ago, due to COVID, the Kennekuk Environmental Education Center was not able to have any of their Hunter Safety Education Classes. This year they can, and two of the classes are already full.
There’s the two-day class March 11th and 12th at Kennekuk County Park, and then another one they put together in Westville that’s also full. But Illinois Department of Natural Resources certified instructor Jack Land says, don’t worry. If you want to be part of a class, call him. They’ll try to get some more scheduled.
AUDIO: We cover everything from the history of conservation; we cover firearm handling in detail, archery; we touch base on trapping just a little bit. We stress hunter ethics, we cover tree stand safety.
The number to call to reach Jack Land is 217-497-1866.
